What does a service include?

A trailer service is essentially a complete safety check of your trailer. Our technicians carry out a multi point check list on every trailer, identifying any signs of wear, damage or something that could be potentially dangerous to you or other road users.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Hitch assembly full inspection and lubricate
  • Lighting system check and inspection of wiring and connections
  • Breakaway cable inspection
  • Jockey wheel strip, inspect and lubricate
  • Wheel bearing inspection
  • Wheels removed and all tyres and rims checked for wear or damage
  • Full braking system strip-down, inspect, adjust and lubricate
  • Chassis and body inspection including all visible fasteners
  • Axle and suspension inspection
  • Check floor for wear, rot or damage
  • Any doors, windows, hinges etc - check and lubricate
  • Body panels checked for any rot or damage
  • Visual walkaround to assess general condition of trailer
  • Age of tyres, pressures and tread depth checked and recorded
  • Inspection of any trailer specific parts, boat rollers, sheep decks etc.

Once we have carried out the service, and we have a report of the condition, if there is any extra work required to bring your trailer back up to standard, we will send you an estimate of any parts and labour costs required before commencing any additional work.

Anything we deem to be safe, but may need monitoring, we will advise you of in our service report.

If we find anything deemed to be immediately dangerous to you or other road users, and you decide against getting the work done, we will ask you to sign a disclaimer form on collection of the trailer to say that you have gone against our professional advice.

Lighting Upgrades

We all know that trailer lights can be a troublesome subject. Modern day LED's are far more reliable than older style bulb units, and when installed and connected properly, will give you less problems, and as an added bonus, they look better too. We can also add extra lights if required, such as upgraded reverse lights, flashing strobes, or extra marker lights.
